Open Wize Presentation

Open Wize is an open source software stack developed as part of the Wize Alliance, led in particular by GRDF, to enable the use of the Wize radio protocol on the 169 MHz frequency.
This protocol is intended for industrial IoT applications requiring long-range, robust and very low-power communication.
Open Wize offers a complete implementation, compatible with Wize 1.2 specifications, enabling manufacturers, integrators and developers to design reliable communication sensors and equipment.
The solution is based on openness, transparency and standardisation, facilitating its adoption by a growing ecosystem of public and private players. It saves 4 to 6 months of development time for an IoT product, system or sensor.

- Protocol and communication

Long-range radio communication on the 169 MHz band, which is open and royalty-free in Europe.
Very low power consumption, suitable for battery-powered devices with a 10 to 20-year lifespan.
Low but robust data rate, between 1,200 and 6,400 bits/s, suitable for telemetry applications. 
Two-way communication, enabling command exchanges, remote diagnostics and updates.

End-to-end security: encryption, authentication, message integrity.
